All iTelescopes use advanced astronomical CCD and CMOS cameras which deliver the data as 32bit FITs files to the users FTP collection area. These are calibrated monochrome and colour images which will need post processing (the raw data is also available from the FTP server but these require calibration frames to extract maximum data value and image quality. Calibration frames for each telescope are available for download from the FTP sever if you wish to calibrate your data yourself).

We also offer TIFF files via the advanced options section of the plan generator or image series form, as well as .jpeg preview images.

While T2. T68 and T69 are Single Shot Color CCDs, for the remaining systems you will need RGB image processing software to create colour images from the raw monochrome data.

For more information about these software options, check out our software and tips page.
